MUSICIANS
We are so honored to have Alfredo "Tape" Rubin take part in this tour. He will perform on Sunday, December 11 (International Tango Day) a live concert on the terraza of our hotel, which will be simultaneously broadcast to the world. The chance to be there in person is absolutely huge!
Alfredo "Tape" Rubin
Considered to be one of the most outstanding creators of the current tango scene, Alfredo Rubín began in 1990 to traverse the milonga circuit constantly, performing guitar and voice classics of the tango repertoire as well as his own compositions.

In 1997, he founded the Cuarteto Almagro, one of the most representative groups of the new generation, where he worked as arranger, bassist and singer, working both in Argentina and abroad until 2001. With this group he recorded the album "Hemisferios".
There he began a joint work with pianist Fabrizio Pieroni, forming a compositional duo for instrumental music and songs.

In May 2004 he presented "Reina noche", in guitar trio with Las Guitarras de Puente Alsina (Mariano Heler and Adrián Lacruz), an album that has been taken as a reference for composers and performers and honored during the Festival y Mundial de Tango 2014. It also inspired a theatrical version ("Reina noche, mejor será en tus brazos") written by Ramiro Gigliotti.

With this same formation he recorded a second album, "Lujo total" presented in June 2009 at the CAFF and in July 2010 at the Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Uruguay, as guests of the Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro.

Continuing to pursue the language he created in his two previous albums, he recorded in 2018 a third album, "Cambiando cordaje", in association with the guitar trio Lacruz, Heler and Leandro Nikitoff.

Several of his compositions are heard today in Buenos Aires, incorporated into the repertoire of different orchestras, groups and singers.
Cucuza Castiello
Of Cucuza, many things can be said: achievements, recognitions… his wife is always telling him to mention the “Outstanding Personality of the Culture” award, the times he has performed on the stage of the Teatro Colón, the tours to Europe, Korea and Hong Kong (also, she tells him to be a little bit more careful).
What Cucuza likes to tell of his career is how he sang with Floreal, with Charly, with Rubén Juárez and with El Diego Maradona (watch video). He likes to recount that he has been singing for 15 years in the Bar El Faro in his own cycle “El TANGO vuelve al Barrio!!!!” (Tango returns to the neighborhood!” But there is nothing more true, more important than saying that he is a singer, a Tango singer, a singer from a certain neighborhood, a certain region…
And he is a singer, because he has been listening to and singing tango since he was 5 years old, since he had short legs and no belly, and today without the one and with the other, he continues to sing tango. He sings tangos, tangos that are often sung, and that everyone knows are good; he sings tangos that are not often sung, or listened to.
Cucuza is such a tango singer that everything he sings comes out as tango. He sings a song by Leonardo Favio or Sandro and it comes out as tango, he sings something by the Babasóncios or El Flaco and it comes out as tango.

When Cucuza sings, he does it with the "Trío Inestable" (ever-changing trio) and it is worth mentioning that sometimes it can be with only one musician, which is usually his son and guitarist Mateo, with whom he has a duet called "CastielLos." That is what Cucuza does, he sings tangos, and occasionally he writes lyrics and music to make tangos... Cucuza is a classic, but a classic of Barrio (the neighborhood) and (for a while already) a classic of today. Cucuza is what he does, and does what he is…
Cucuza has organized a special public concert in the Bar "El Faro" to coincide with our group's visit. The concert will take place on Friday, December 16.
